The Oyi Local Government Area, under the able leadership of the Mayor, Hon. Emma Nweke has issued a stern warning to indigenes and residents of the area to desist from burning tyres on tarred roads. This warning comes as part of the LGA’s efforts to ensure safety and security in the area.
According to the LGA, the burning of tyres on tarred roads poses a significant threat to the safety of road users and can also cause damage to the roads. The mayor emphasized that the LGA will not tolerate such reckless behaviour and will take all necessary measures to prevent it.
To enforce this directive, the LGA has announced that there will be stop-and-search operations at various points in the area. Security agents will be deployed to these points to ensure compliance with the directive.
In addition, the LGA has also warned motorists to wind down their tinted glasses when approaching checkpoints. This is to ensure that security agents can easily identify occupants of vehicles and prevent any potential security threats.
The mayor appealed to the residents of Oyi LGA to cooperate with the security agents and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The mayor also assured the residents that the LGA is committed to ensuring their safety and security and will do everything possible to achieve this goal.
With these proactive measures, the Oyi LGA is setting a high standard for safety and security in the area, and residents can be assured that their well-being is a top priority.
