Anambra, Nigeria – Prominent businessman and political figure, Chief Edochie Onuora, yesterday officially joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), attributing his decision to the leadership qualities of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Speaking on the reasons behind his move, Chief Onuora acknowledged that Soludo’s growing influence has played a role in attracting political heavyweights to APGA.
“It is good to point to Governor Soludo’s growing influence as attracting some bigwigs to his fold. It is commonly said that where the honey is, should be the place for the carcasses to gather,” Onuora stated.
However, he emphasized that his decision was not solely about the governor but about the quality of leadership he represents.
“We are gathering not just necessarily because of Governor Soludo, but because God has given Ndi Anambra a visionary, trustworthy, and listening leader in him, with the ability of predictability and the capacity to effectively and efficiently harness human and material resources for the benefit of all.”
Reflecting on Soludo’s early days in office, Onuora acknowledged the criticisms the governor faced but commended him for responding with strategic reforms that have since yielded impressive results.
“Governor Soludo was rabidly criticised in his first year in office as being slow. He listened to criticisms and reorganised his administrative setup, which has produced unimaginable results to the admiration of all and sundry.”
According to Onuora, the governor’s growing goodwill and achievements have positioned him strongly for a second term in office.
“Governor Soludo has gained tremendous goodwill and traction that serves him well and is ready to win him a return to the second tenure in office, and we want to be part of that victory story.”
Onuora’s defection to APGA is expected to further bolster the party’s influence as preparations for future elections intensify.
