The honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Chief Tonycollins Nwabunwanne today joined other Anam stakeholders in a townhall meeting organised by the umbrella body of Anam people, known as Anam People’s Assembly (APA).
Nwabunwanne said that he attended the meeting in person despite his tight schedules to demonstrate the high level of respect he has for APA.
“My political party is holding a mega rally tomorrow and I am involved in the planning; that would have been enough excuse for me to send delegates. But I had to force the visit into my schedule because I respect my people and their leadership, APA” he explained.
According to him, his commitment to APA is only second to carrying out the official responsibilities assigned to him as a Commissioner by Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
He said that every political office holder in Anam, need to regularly answer the calls of APA to give account of their stewardship where questions should be asked, answers provided and guidance offered.
Nwabunwanne made the statement at an interactive townhall meeting organised by APA to discuss the forthcoming local government election and other sundry matters concerning the well being of Anam people.
He pledged to continue giving all the required necessary support to APA to ensure it carries out its responsibilities to the benefits of the Anam people in particular and Anambra West LGA in general.
Notably, Chief Nwabunwanne attended the townhall in person, while other current political office holders sent representatives.
