A caucus of House of Representatives members from Anambra State, on Saturday commended Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his massive developmental strides in the state and urged him not to relent.
The group gave the commendation during their visit to the governor at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Anambra State.
In his speech, the member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Hon. Victor Afam Ogene who led the delegation appreciated Governor Soludo for his developmental strides in various sectors of the state including the economy, roads, healthcare, education, among others.
The delegation that cuts across political parties line specifically applauded the governor for his resolve and corresponding action in building a new Anambra Government House and lodge, which were abandoned for several years.
While expressing their readiness to jointly pursue projects at the centre that would benefit ndi Anambra, the caucus applauded the governor for the massive regeneration going on in Anambra House in Abuja.
On her part, Hon. Chinwe Gwacham appreciated the governor for running an all-inclusive administration, with specific mention of the appointment of women in his administration.
Also speaking, the member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Orogbu and the member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife aligned with the earlier speaker. They also informed the governor that out of 14 women members of the House of Representatives, three are from Anambra State, demonstrating the governor’s support for gender balance.
The delegation collectively agreed that Governor Soludo is performing marvelously well and based on his work, he would be returned overwhelmingly for second term.
The member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Dr. Paschal Agbodike charged his colleagues to try to attract at least one capital project to the state.
Individually, the Reps members thanked the governor for the projects and other infrastructural developments going on in their respective constituencies, including the Mmiata Anam- Nzam road project, among others. They, however, requested for more.
In response, Governor Soludo thanked them for initiating the meeting and reminded them that he had held a similar meeting with the last assembly before he was sworn in.
The governor while extending same hands of fellowship to them, for all to join in rebuilding the home land assured them that he would continue to deepen the strategic relationship among all especially in the areas of infrastructural partnership and development. “Anambra is one people, one state, one agenda” he said.
