Ahead of the official keep-off of campaigns on September 28, several individuals and groups, who do not want their names mentioned for now, are asking all and sundry to support Hon. Peter Aniekwe for Anambra East/West Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat.
Most of them said that like Mr. Peter Obi who is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and the best candidate among all the presidential seat contestants, Hon. Aniekwe has no credible rival for the Green Chambers seat in Anambra East and West.
They said that as a private person, Macpee used his personal resources to touch the lives of the people positively. They said that if he could offer scholarships, support businesses and engage in all forms of philanthropy with his personal resources, he would do more with public resources and office.
They argue that unlike most of the other contestants, Macpee had and still has verifiable sources of income; that he has thriving businesses and does not want to occupy public office so he could enrich himself because he is already rich. They asserted that Macpee has over time proved his humility, sincerity of purpose and lots of sense of contentment and therefore cannot be changed by the allures of public office.
Also, in their opinion, it is the turn of Anambra West to produce the next representative at the Green Chambers and MacPee aside from being a successful businessman and having other humane qualities, belongs to the Labour Party which has become a mass movement.
