In the journey of life, some figures stand out as beacons of light, illuminating the path for generations to come. Pa Simeon Nwankwo Soludo, affectionately known as Ichie Akukananwa I, was one such luminous soul before he passed away lately.
As a father, he embodied the quintessential virtues of leadership, provision, protection, and guidance. As a personable gentleman, his influence extended far beyond his immediate kin, touching the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be in his orbit.
With grace and wisdom, Pa Soludo nurtured a legacy steeped in peace, discipline, and unwavering service to humanity.
Born on the 11th of November, 1931, he graced this world for 92 quiet but remarkable years. In his wake, he leaves behind an enviable generation woven with the threads of seven devoted sons, eight cherished daughters-in-law, twenty-two adoring grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Their collective accomplishments bear witness to the profound impact of Pa Soludo’s exemplary impartation of right values.
For instance, education was a sacred torch for Pa Soludo, one he ardently passed on to his children. It is through this legacy of learning that the world came to know the brilliance of his son, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo. The Soludo household was a sanctuary of discipline and integrity, virtues that now flow through the veins of his accomplished offspring.
Embracing the ideals of peace, humility and empathy, the Soludo children, like their patriarch, also became beacons of compassion, simplicity and understanding. Interestingly, these noble ideals were demonstrated by Governor Soludo himself when, in a rare case of elite simplicity and understanding, he got his late father admitted and treated at the Anambra State Teaching Hospital, known as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, instead of flying him abroad as is the usual elite practice in Nigeria.
Pa Soludo’s devotion to service to humanity was the cornerstone of his existence. His children, bearing the indelible mark of his influence, have carried forth this torch in their own diverse journeys.
A God-fearing Christian, a steadfast pillar of trust, a nurturing father, a steward of his community, and an advocate for peace, Pa Soludo’s impact extended far beyond his immediate sphere. As the oldest member of the Boys Scout Association in Nigeria, his commitment to nurturing the values of selflessness, discipline, leadership, wisdom, and community service resonated far and wide.
His legacy will forever be a guiding star for those who aspire to walk the path of service and compassion. The ripples of his influence will continue to cascade through time, reminding us all of the indelible mark one man can leave on the world.
Thus, in the essence of Pa Simeon Nwankwo Soludo’s life, we find threads of inspiration, woven with love, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to humanity. His light may have dimmed in the mortal realm, but the radiance of his legacy will forever glow in the hearts of those he touched.
