As Awka, the Anambra State capital, hosts the 2025 South East Delegates Meeting, traditional rulers from across the region arrived on a different kind of mission—including inspection. It was a rare show of collective engagement, as the monarchs undertook a tour of major infrastructural projects in the state to assess firsthand the much-talked-about transformation spearheaded by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

Led by the Chairman of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman of the Imo State Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke of Amaifeke, the monarchs, embarked on a guided tour of key government projects. Among them were the new Anambra Government House and the Solution Fun City—two landmark developments reshaping Awka’s skyline and symbolizing a bold new era in the state’s governance.

Addressing journalists after the tour, Eze Okeke did not mince words. “Governor Soludo has made huge, fantastic achievements in governance. What we have seen on the ground clearly shows that Anambra is taking the lead, particularly in the tourism and development sectors,” he said, praising the governor as “an economic expert and a man of wisdom.”

Joining their voices in admiration were the Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Sir Linus Mba, and his Enugu counterpart, Igwe Samuel Asadu. They described the projects as “of international standard,” applauding their scope and calling for deliberate maintenance. “The reward for good job is more work,” Eze Mba declared, underscoring the collective expectation for continuity and sustainability.

One of the crown jewels of the tour, the new Anambra Government House, drew particular praise. According to Engr Ikechukwu Nnahasi, Managing Director of Iykejordan, the firm handling the project, the facility is ready for commissioning. “It’s the best and biggest Government House in Nigeria,” he asserted, commending Governor Soludo’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

Echoing the sentiments of his colleagues, Eze E.C. Okeke, who also serves as Eze Imo, offered blessings and gratitude to the governor. “We’ve seen your sterling works. What you’ve built in Anambra are massive,” he said, also commending the governor’s care for the traditional institution in the state.

Since assuming office, Governor Soludo has prioritized infrastructure, urban renewal, economic rejuvenation, and institutional reforms. Over 400 kilometres of roads have been initiated or completed. The transformation of Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi is ongoing. In health, education, and sanitation, measurable progress is being recorded.

But beyond statistics, the visit by the region’s royal fathers provided something rarer—validation rooted in cultural authority and grounded observation. Their endorsement is a reminder that Governor Soludo’s “Solution Agenda” is not just a slogan but a living, visible reality.
