The Transition Committee chairman, Onitsha North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Hon. Onochie Ozoma has introduced a monthly cash reward for the cleanest ward in the LGA.
The TC chairman urged the members of the LGA to strive for a cleaner environment not just because of the cash reward but because of the numerous health benefits of a clean environment.
While briefing the press, Hon. Ozoma said that all the Transition Committee members, sanitation guards and sanitation marshals were enjoined to commence active supervision of the roads and streets in their Wards for the “Cleanliness Ward Challenge”.
“They should do videos of their clean roads and streets and upload them in platforms for inspection and verification” he explained.
“The winning ward shall be declared every month and the TC member shall be invited to collect the #50,000 cash for the Ward.”
He said, “Making Onitsha North clean, green and livable is our collective responsibility” he said. “Who wins the February 2024 challenge. Please let it be your ward. Solution is here!”
