Last week, at the Okpunoeze-Nnewi Hotel road, Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo joined the community to inaugurate the 3.2km road, which, according to the locals, is one of the busiest thoroughfares in Nnewi.
Recounting his experience two years ago, during campaign, he said: “We tragically lost a young man, Mr. Emeka Nwokenagu (EzeB) to the criminal activities of marauding gunmen.
“EzeB served as the APGA chairman for Uruagu Ward 1, and he was murdered by unknown criminals.
“During my condolence visit to his grieving family, I traversed this road for the first time and experienced firsthand the hardships faced by the residents and other road users. Today, the narrative has shifted positively.
“His widow, Mrs. Uchenna Nwokenagu, and elderly mother were among the locals who participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate this crucial road, which carries significant economic and social benefits.
“May Anambra continue to succeed!”
