
Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has announced that former tennis champion, Ms Tania Okpala has been successfully restored to her winning ways.
Governor Soludo made the announcement few days ago that Ms Okpala was at a lawn tennis court in town to showcase her skills.

“I sincerely appreciate my darling wife, @NonyeSoludo, for her unwavering commitment to the cause of rehabilitating and reintegrating Tania into society” he wrote on his “X”.
Few months ago, social media was flooded with a viral video showing Ms. Tania in a distressing state on the streets of Awka.
On intervention, Anambra State governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, assured that the state government would support the treatment procedures of the ex-tennis champion, Okpala, to help her get back to her feet.
Announcing the latest development, the governor’s wife who visited the facility where Okpala is currently being taken care of, disclosed that she had a particular interest in Tania’s case and was impressed with the level of her recovery.
She promised that immediately the ex-tennis star is certified fit, she would be actively involved in the “Healthy Living Crusade” to lead education on the dangers of drugs and substance use.
The governor’s wife also ordered books and other learning tools that Ms. Okpala takes interest in, and promised to continue to reach out to her as she nears full recovery.
The chief medical officer of the facility said that Ms. Okpala had neared ninety-eight percent recovery, with the only thing left being social rehabilitation, that is, getting her reintegrated into the society.
Ms. Okpala, during her chats with the governor’s wife said that Mrs Soludo is a mother who looks out for everyone’s good.
She thanked the governor’s wife for her commitment towards her case, and promised to use her story to educate anyone who finds himself or herself in a similar situation.
