The Press Secretary to Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, has emerged the overall spokesperson of the year at “Spokesperson Communication Awards and Conference.”
Aburime bagged this award at the event held at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday, December 7, ahead of other top players in the Public Relations sector.
The organisers said Aburime won displayed exceptional skills in communicating and sustaining mutual relationships for effective media coverage of the activities of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the National Publicity Secretary of APGA and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Anambra State on New Media, who received the award for Aburime, thanked the organizers for recognizing competence and dedication to duty.
“Mr Aburime has dedicated the Award to God Almighty and Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for providing the platform upon which this rare honour came. He charged PR practitioners and journalists to stick to the ethics of the profession and eschew sensation and fake news.
“The spokesperson’s award is an annual event organized by Image Merchant Promotion Ltd, Publishers of PRNigeria and Spokesperson’s Digest in conjunction with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
“The occasion was graced by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Muhammed Idris, who was the chairman of the occasion while the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr Ike Neliaku were the Special Guest of Honour and the Chief Host respectively.
