Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has in keeping with orchestrating sequence of critical improvements within the state’s judicial framework, established Small Claims Courts.
In concluding his serialization of Soludo’s bold reforms in Anambra justice sector, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Christian Aburime explained that aside being a bold pace towards modernization and efficiency, these improvements are being embarked upon to drive Anambra State into the ranks of contemporary, forward-thinking societies.
Aburime explained further: “Today, the latest of these transformative interventions is the establishment of Small Claims Courts, a move set to transform the resolution of liquidated money demands in the state. The establishment of Small Claims Courts represents a fundamental step in the pursuit of swift and equitable justice in Anambra State.
“These specialized courts have been designated from the existing Magistrate Courts, strategically tailored to fast-track the resolution of uncomplicated claims and debt recovery disputes. This seemingly small but important judicial concept reflects Governor Soludo’s unrelenting quest for a justice system that is accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the people.
“Now, no longer will individuals and businesses in Anambra be ensnared in protracted legal battles over liquidated money demands. The Small Claims Courts offer a streamlined, accessible, and cost-effective alternative, ensuring that justice is not only served, but served promptly.
“This innovation is particularly significant in a world where time is of the essence, and delays in resolving financial disputes can have far-reaching consequences on lives, finances and businesses.
“The foresight of the Chief Judge of Anambra State, in issuing a Practice Direction outlining the procedures of the Small Claims Courts, is instrumental in bringing this transformation to life.
“This directive empowers these courts to function effectively, providing a clear framework for expedited resolutions. So, the institution of Small Claims Courts in Anambra State marks yet another watershed moment in Governor Charles Soludo’s transformative agenda.
“By introducing these specialised courts, his administration demonstrates an indisputable stance on delivering swift and accessible justice for Ndi Anambra. This initiative validates the forward-thinking ethos of Soludo’s administration and also underscores its dedication to creating a modern, progressive, and smart society in Anambra State.
