The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has described the Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as a true Nigerian.
The Ooni was speaking when he visited the Governor at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
According to the Monarch, Governor Soludo had tried to live his life as a true Nigerian ambassador, representing the country in both character and attire.
The Ooni eulogized the glorious days of Governor Soludo at the Central Bank of Nigeria which eventually gave rise to the consolidation of banks in the country.
He encouraged the Governor to continue his selfless service to Anambra State in particular and Nigeria at large.
Recieving the Monarch, Governor Soludo said that the likes of the Ooni are needed for national healing in this critical challenging time of Nigeria’s nationhood.
The Governor described the Ooni as the most travelled king and encouraged him to keep being the bridge builder.
Soludo noted that now that a President had been elected, Nigerians owe him a duty of support, saying that the traditional institution, being a stable entity, is the needed building block to help salvage the nation.
The Governor noted that the institution provides the balancing force for the country, especially if everyone bonds together, noting that there is increased need for more national leaders who see everyone as one people and the country as one entity, to ensure stability for the nation.
The Ooni, who had some kings in his entourage later presented a symbolic gift of bronze carving to the Governor, which had the image of a hunter, standing on the rock.
