Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has expressed appreciation over a Christmas gift from Mrs Obiageli Margaret Nwokedi, a widow and cleaner in the office of the Head of Service.
Governor Soludo, who said he was deeply humbled and grateful for the heartwarming Christmas gift, stated that her kindness and generosity were a shining example of the true spirit of giving, especially during this festive season.
“I must admit that I was touched by her gesture, not just because of the gift itself, but because of the thought and effort she put into it,” he stated.
“The big chicken she gave me is worth N30,000 in the market, which is no small amount, especially for someone who, like many Nigerians, is facing economic hardships.
“But what really moved me was her reason for giving me the gift. She told me that she decided to give me the gift because I constructed the Afor-Nkpor road, which she uses daily to come to work in Awka. She recalled how the road was a death-trap before, but now it’s safe and convenient for her and many others.
“Her words were a powerful reminder of the impact that our actions can have on people’s lives. As a leader, it’s moments like these that make all the hard work worth it.
“I’m also grateful for her prayers and good wishes for me. Her faith and optimism are an inspiration to me, and I’m committed to continuing to work hard to make Anambra State a better place for all its citizens.
“Once again, I thank Obiageli Margaret Nwokedi for her kindness and generosity. Her gift is a reminder that even in difficult times, there is always something to be grateful for, and the true spirit of giving can bring joy and inspiration to others.”
