The senator representing Anambra North senatorial zone, Dr. Tony Nwoye has completed and inaugurated 100 lockup shops at Otuocha market in Anambra East LGA, Anambra State.
During the inauguration of the shops fitted with toilets, Senator Nwoye said the project is a part of his efforts aimed at creating conducive business environment in many markets across the senatorial zone as well as alleviating the sufferings of the people.
The inauguration held on Saturday, June 22 is part of the activities marking his one year in office as the senator representing Anambra North.
Nwoye said he was satisfied with the quality of job and will soon commence the next phase of another 100 lockup shops. He said, “We have executed the project properly and it is 100 percent completed. I am here to officially commission this place and hand it over to the traders to use for their business.
“It is my prayer and wish that these shops will bring good fortunes to all the traders in the market. Our next phase will be another 100 lockup shops for the traders in the market.”
Nwoye also promised to reactivate the Solar powered borehole to supply water to the market. Aside the commissioning of the shops, there was presentation of Azu Mmili by the market leaders and songs of solidarity for Senator Dr Tony Nwoye by the cheerful market women and men.
Also, Senator Nwoye and his House of Representatives counterpart, Chief Peter Aniekwe visited the site of the ongoing Otuocha-Ibaji-Lokoja road project. They promised to ensure that the road is given the adequate attention it requires due to its viability. Meanwhile, Nwoye specifically said the contractual sum was increased to N34billion and he is confident that NigerCat would do a good job following their track record.
On their part, Anambra West constituents while applauding Nwoye and Aniekwe for their efforts, urged them not to relent; but consistently follow-up to ensure that the project receives serious attention and not merely used as campaign tool, all the time, by politicians.
