Following the menace of drugs among school children, Mrs Sabina Ofoegbu, the foremost Principal, Government Secondary School, Tudun Wada, Abuja, has cautioned against drug abuse for the youths to live a meaningful life.
Ofoegbu made the call in Abuja, at the maiden edition of Tudun Wada Old Students Association (TOSA), Annual General Meeting (AGM). She said that illicit drug destroyed many people with great potentials, and as such it should be avoided.
She said the menace is a source of concern to the society, adding that the government was making concerted efforts to tackle it.
“Please do not get into drug abuse, it destroys so much, lets love one another, let us build our nation with all social differences, let’s be an ambassador to good Nigeria,” she said.
She, therefore, called on the old and present students to continue to strive for excellence and shun vices that could disrepute the name of the school.Ofoegbu also enjoined the students to focus on things that could develop them for the betterment of the country, stressing that, “the youth must not engage in drug abuse”.
The educationist further urged the old students not to be tired of giving back to the school, and come up with programmes to project the image of the school to the outside world.
“I am proud of the entire old students who are seated here today; many of you are engaged in different profession ranges from media, medical, law, engineering, among others”.
Also, Mrs Kyauta Yepiew, commended the old students for representing the school well in their various fields. She advised the old students now in Diaspora and those planning to go, to come back home and invest in the country. Tudun Wada School was established in 1987, and produced its first set of graduates in 1990.
