Popular cleric and spiritual leader, Prophet Ebuka Obi, has applauded Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his decisive actions in tackling the root causes of criminality in the Southeast. In particular, he praised Soludo’s crackdown on fraudulent native doctors, commonly known as dibias, who produce Oke Ite, a notorious charm allegedly used by internet fraudsters and criminals, including kidnappers.
Prophet Obi, the founder of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, urged other Southeast governors to follow Soludo’s example by intensifying investigations and arrests of fake spiritualists who promote ritual killings, money rituals, and other harmful practices. He emphasized that these fraudulent practices contribute to the rising crime rate in the region and must be addressed collectively.
In recent years, Anambra State and other parts of the Southeast have witnessed an alarming rise in ritual-related crimes. The infamous Oke Ite charm is believed to grant users supernatural powers to deceive victims in fraudulent activities, while some dibias have been linked to heinous acts such as human sacrifices and the preparation of charms for violent criminals. Governor Soludo, determined to curb these practices, launched a campaign against ritual killings and occult practices in 2023. His administration has since worked with law enforcement agencies to identify and shut down shrines where such activities occur. The government also intensified public awareness campaigns, warning youths against engaging in ritual-related crimes.
Prophet Ebuka Obi has gained a reputation for his fearless stance against occult practices and fake spiritualists. Through his ministry, he has consistently preached against the use of charms for wealth acquisition and has exposed fraudulent dibias who deceive desperate individuals. His call for a regional approach to tackling ritual killings and fraudulent spiritual practices aligns with his long-standing advocacy for moral and spiritual reformation in the Southeast.
As Anambra continues its crackdown on ritual-related crimes, many believe that a collaborative effort among Southeast governors, security agencies, and religious leaders like Prophet Ebuka Obi will be crucial in restoring sanity and security to the region.
