In line with Anambra State governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR’s free education policy covering Nursery to Senior Secondary 3, parents and guardians in Oyi Local Government Area have been strongly urged to ensure their children and wards are enrolled in school without delay.
In a decisive move to combat child neglect and promote universal education, the Mayor of Oyi LGA, Hon. Dr. Emma Nweke, has announced strict enforcement measures against parents who fail to comply. Any child found loitering in streets, motor parks, or markets during school hours will be picked up, while their parents or guardians risk arrest for gross negligence.
To ensure full compliance, a special task force has been established to monitor and enforce the policy across the local government area. This initiative aligns with the state government’s broader vision of providing equal educational opportunities and fostering a brighter future for Anambra’s children.
“This policy is for the betterment of our children and the development of our state,” Hon. Dr. Nweke stated, emphasizing that every child deserves the right to quality education.
Parents and guardians are urged to take this directive seriously as the government remains committed to ensuring Greater Oyi remains possible.
Long Live Anambra State!
