Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin C. Obidigwe has urged Ndi Anambra to focus on grassroots mobilisation and results-based assessment as the state prepares for the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
Speaking after joining Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, on a series of project inspections and commissioning across Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Obidigwe dismissed opposition speculations about election manipulation as “antiquated” and insisted that APGA remains firmly positioned to secure victory.
“The election will not be decided by propaganda or empty threats,” Obidigwe said. “It will be determined at the grassroots, where the people have already seen and felt the impact of Soludo’s administration. What matters is delivery of democratic dividends, and on that count, APGA stands unbeatable.”
The former lawmaker, who represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, listed the governor’s projects in Enugu-Otu Aguleri, Mkpunado Otu Aguleri, Eziagulu-Otu Aguleri, Aguleri Uno, Eke Otuocha market, Umueri, Nsugbe, Mmiata Anam and Nzam as evidence of performance-driven governance.
According to him, politics in Anambra has gone beyond party lines, stressing that every progressive-minded citizen, irrespective of political affiliation, should rally behind Soludo to ensure continuity of ongoing development.
“Since March 2022, Governor Soludo has remained focused on providing critical infrastructure and basic needs for Ndi Anambra without any iota of segregation. This progress deserves collective endorsement and massive support for him to complete his second term,” he noted.
Obidigwe further highlighted the zoning arrangement in the state, maintaining that the governorship should remain in Anambra South Senatorial District until 2030.
“Zoning must be respected. Soludo is completing the South’s rightful tenure. After 2026, power will shift to Anambra Central, and then return to the North. Beyond zoning, Soludo is the most cerebral, competent, credible, and reliable leader, backed by unprecedented achievements in less than four years,” he stressed.
On opposition claims of rigging plans, Obidigwe recalled similar threats in past elections that never materialised.
“In 2010, PDP threatened to rig against Peter Obi’s re-election; we resisted them and APGA won. In 2013, during Obiano’s first term, the same threat came; we resisted them. In 2017, with Obiano’s second term, APC became the threat, but we secured 21/21. In 2021, Soludo’s emergence came with even greater threats, yet we won 19 out of 21 LGAs. This time, APGA is determined not just to win all 21 local governments but all 326 wards and possibly the 7,520 polling units in the state,” he declared.
Obidigwe therefore urged Ndi Anambra to ignore distractions and “focus on grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation,” insisting that Soludo’s record of governance leaves him “unbeatable” in the forthcoming election.
