In a strong show of continued dedication to grassroots development and welfare, former representative of Anambra East and West Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers, Chief Benjamin Chinedu Obidigwe (Akaoma Jide Aku) has reiterated his commitment to community service despite being out of public office at the moment.
Obidigwe, alongside Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Hon. (Engr.) Julius Chukwuemeka, and a delegation of traditional rulers, conducted an inspection of the ongoing Otuocha-Odene-Aguleri Otu Road project, which leads to Orient Petroleum Oil in Aguleri.
Speaking after the assessment, Obidigwe lauded Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for keeping his promise to the Aguleri Otu people by ensuring that work on the critical road infrastructure commenced without delay. He described the governor as a visionary leader who believes in equitable distribution of development projects across the state, irrespective of a location’s remoteness or economic significance.
“This road is an indispensable asset that shall remain indelible in the hearts of Agulerians, especially in Aguleri Otu communities such as Eziagulu Otu, Enugu Otu, and Mkpunando Otu Aguleri,” Obidigwe stated.
It will be recalled that during his visit to Aguleri Otu in 2023, Governor Soludo observed the poor state of the Odene-Aguleri Otu Road and pledged to commence construction—an initiative initially started by former Governor Willie Obiano. While many dismissed the promise as mere political rhetoric, Soludo’s swift action has proven otherwise, earning him widespread praise.
Amazed by the speed and quality of the ongoing construction, traditional rulers and community leaders present at the inspection passed a vote of confidence in Governor Soludo. They vowed to support his administration’s re-election bid in November 2025, expressing gratitude for his determination to bring infrastructural development to Aguleri Otu.
Dignitaries who joined in the inspection included: HRH Igwe Lawrence Nwofia (Ochiagha), Traditional Ruler of Eziagulu Otu; HRH Igwe Emmanuel Igbagor Ejimofor (Omelora), Traditional Ruler of Enugu Otu; HRH Igwe Johnson O. Mbanefo (Ezedioramma), Traditional Ruler of Mkpunando Otu Aguleri; Chief Dominic Franklin Ndife, Chairman of Aguleri Royal Cabinet; the Presidents-General of Enugu Otu, Eziagulu Otu, and Mkpunando Otu Aguleri Communities.
The community leaders commended Governor Soludo for his dedication to the people of Aguleri Otu, pledging their unwavering support for his administration’s vision and continuity.
Despite no longer holding office, Obidigwe’s active involvement in projects of public interest demonstrates his enduring passion for community development and welfare, reinforcing his reputation as a leader who remains deeply connected to the people.
