The member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe has restated that he is not running for senate but would rather consolidate his achievements at the Green Chambers. In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Dominic Okagbue, the House of Representatives member had earlier hosted the stakeholders in his constituency where he informed them that he would be returning to the Green Chambers and solicited their support. Okagbue also explained that Obidigwe never bought house for the wife of former Governor Willie Obiano but rather played pure political roles in Obiano’s administration which are clearly known to all and sundry.

Obidigwe

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to an unfounded allegations emanating from one faceless Okaka Steven where he laid accusations against  Hon. Chief Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe , Member Representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency in Abuja . Ordinarily, one would have out rightly overlooked the senseless allegations especially on its lack of merit and the fact that it emanated from a Facebook pseudo account that was created the same day the fake story were being circulated; but because the Bible says in the book of Proverbs:  “Correct a fool before he or she thinks he/she is right ” hence this official disclaimer.

“First is to establish that Hon. Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe is not running for senate Anambra North. As a matter of fact, few months ago he called a stakeholders meeting of Anambra East and West Federal Constituency at Otuocha Secretariat; where he stated unequivocally that he is returning to the Green Chambers of the National Assembly with the People’s support. Therefore, with this, the useless allegation from the sponsors of the fake Facebook article has been laid to rest.

“Secondly, on the issue of house purchase for the erstwhile first lady, one wonders the rationale behind the story when it is obvious that the role played by Obidigwe in the government of the former governor, Chief Willie Obiano is purely political and mobilization of youths across the state before his emergence as the Member Representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency in 2019 general election. So the issue of buying a house for the first lady in Abuja as raised by the sponsors of this fake news also lacks substance as Obidigwe had never transacted with the former first lady not to talk about house in Abuja and ready to reward anybody with useful information to that effect with the sum of Five Million Naira ( #5,000.000.00).

“Other issues raised by the said psudeo account such as using diabolic means in manipulating the former first lady into slapping or fighting in the public can better be classified as childish , unreasonable and an expression of a lunatic person who needs an urgent Psychiatric medication.

Obviously, one thing the reading public must know is that the 2023 general election is fast approaching and most politicians especially those who don’t have grassroots credibility have resorted to the use of fake Facebook account targeted towards character assassination on person (s) they see as an obstacle.

“It is important to note that these unfounded allegations are coming from enemies of progress who never wanted the choice of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the first place and who fought anybody they saw as projecting the course.  so when the dream finally became a reality and Soludo was sworn- in as the Governor of Anambra State, they now resort to name calling as a last strategy for character assassination against the person of Obidigwe  which we describe as a dead on  arrival strategy.

“The reading public should disregard these faceless idiots who can’t be bold enough to write with a known identity but prefers to hide under a fake Facebook account. The truth is that all he said never existed and should be disregarded. Period!

Signed: Dominic Okagbue,

Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity to Hon Chief Benjamin C Obidigwe, MHR
