As the festive season comes to a close, Ndi Anambra are still reeling from the numerous surprises that greeted them upon their return home for Christmas. The sheer scale of transformation that has taken place in the state under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has left many in awe.
From the ease of movement around Upper Iweka, courtesy of the governor’s road construction and rehabilitation efforts, to the absence of criminal touts that once made life difficult for commuters, the changes are palpable. The Solution Fun City in Awka, although not yet officially commissioned, has already become a source of excitement for many families who thronged the facility thinking it had been opened to the public.
Travelers who returned home for the holidays were also pleasantly surprised by the reduced travel times, thanks to the governor’s infrastructure development initiatives. The overall feeling among Ndi Anambra is one of shock and delight at the pace of progress in the state.
As one of my friends from Ideani aptly put it, “O bu zi Anambra k’anyi no?” (Is this really Anambra?). The answer, of course, is a resounding yes. Governor Soludo’s administration has truly transformed the state in just 33 months.
The governor’s tireless efforts to solve the state’s problems have not gone unnoticed. As he continues to move about the state, solving more problems and attending to the needs of Ndi Anambra, it is clear that he is committed to leaving a lasting legacy.
As we usher in the new year, Ndi Anambra are eagerly anticipating what the future holds for their beloved state. With Governor Soludo at the helm, they can rest assured that the progress will continue unabated. The next 24 hours promises to be even busier, as many more Ndi Anambra are making their way home for the new year celebration in the Light of the Nation!
