
Celebrity bar man, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, was today arraigned and has bee granted bail in the sum of N10million with two sureties in like sum.
Earlier around 8:45 am, the Cubana Chief Priest was driven by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives under heavily armed police escorts to the Federal High Court in Lagos for his trial on allegations bordering on naira abuse.
Cubana Chief Priest is facing three counts, all bordering on naira abuse which could lead to six months imprisonment, if found guilty.
Count one against Cubana Chief Priest reads: “that you, Okechukwu Pascal on 13th February 2024, at Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.
Count two, “That you Okechukwu Pascal sometime in 2020, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.
Count three, “That you Okechukwu Pascal sometime in January 2024, in Lagos during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.”
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was granted bail in the sum of N10million with two sureties in like sum.
