Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has declared an all-out war against criminals in the state, vowing that those responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Hon. Justice Azuka will face the full wrath of the law.
The lawmaker, who represented his constituency with dedication, was abducted by unknown gunmen, sending shockwaves across the state. Despite frantic efforts to secure his release, his lifeless body was discovered days later, a grim testament to the rising insecurity that has tested the resolve of Anambra’s leadership.
Governor Soludo, visibly enraged by the brutal killing, declared that the perpetrators had not only murdered a man but had “murdered justice itself.” In his words, those who took the life of Hon. Justice Nonso Okafor “will not know sleep. They will be hunted down, captured, and made to face the full weight of the law. Anambra will never be a safe haven for criminals.”
The governor has since ordered an extensive security operation across the state, with joint forces comprising the Nigerian Police, Anambra Vigilante Services, and other security agencies tasked with tracking down the culprits. He assured the people of Anambra that his administration remains unwavering in its commitment to stamping out criminal elements.
Soludo emphasized that Anambra has come too far in reclaiming peace from the grip of criminals and will not allow enemies of progress to drag the state back into lawlessness. He warned that anyone involved in crime should surrender immediately or face severe consequences.
This latest incident has reignited calls for tougher action against violent crimes in Anambra. The governor reiterated his zero-tolerance policy on kidnapping, cultism, and armed robbery, urging communities to expose those terrorizing their neighborhoods.
As most of the killers of Hon. Justice Azuka killers are already in custody, one message is clear—Soludo’s Anambra will no longer be a breeding ground for criminals. The battle line has been drawn, and those who murdered Justice will not rest until justice is served.
