Idemili North Local Government Area has officially launched an Immunization Taskforce aimed at strengthening routine immunization, improving healthcare delivery, and safeguarding the health of residents.
The launch event was held under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Hon. Phina Uche Onwuachu, with key support from the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Nkem Okeke, and the Head of Department for Health.
The initiative is part of the local government’s broader strategy to increase immunization coverage, raise awareness about preventable diseases, and enhance community participation in healthcare programs.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Onwuachu emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between government officials, healthcare workers, and community members in achieving universal immunization goals. Hon. Okeke also highlighted the role of the taskforce in ensuring that no child is left behind in vaccination efforts.
Residents are encouraged to support the program as the taskforce begins community outreach and mobilization activities in various wards across the local government.
The launch marks a significant step toward creating a healthier, more resilient Idemili North.
