Few days after an agency of Anambra State Government, the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) sealed Dubai lodge at Ifite Awka over structural defect, the building collapsed without any loss of life.
The agency took the measure after a detailed investigation that showed massive defect in the structural integrity of the Dubai Lodge, an off campus Student hostel in Ifite, Awka, housing over 200 students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
At about 10:15pm last night, the entire structure collapsed though without single casualty; thanks to the responsive action of ACTDA.
