A group of interested constituents in Anambra North Senatorial district has called on Senator Tony Nwoye representing the zone at the Senate, to provide proof of people empowered or employed through his intervention.
The non-partisan group while applauding Dr. Nwoye for his visibility at the 10th Senate, so far, advised him to always provide verifiable data as regards empowerment, execution of constituency projects and delivery of democracy dividends.
The group asked Dr. Nwoye to provide the names, communities and schools of the 160 people who got admissions through him. He is also asked to provide the details of those who shared the sewing machines, grinding machines and generators, if they had already been distributed.
The leader of the group, who wants to be anonymous said, “Nwoye is really participating in the affairs of the senate, at least during the screening of the ministerial nominees. It is very commendable. But he must not make claims without showing us the facts. We should be able to verify the claims. We are tired of politicians grandstanding without really performing. We hope Tony Nwoye and Macpee will be different. “
Nwoye had in an interview claimed, “we have already bought 1500 sewing machines, 500 generators, grinding machines, for empowerment purposes.
“I promise you qualitative representation without playing to the gallery. We will attract projects across the entire senatorial district.
“Prior to now, we have facilitated employment to over 160 persons in different federal parastatals and there’s proof to this and we promise to do more.”
