Awka, Anambra State – The Governor of Anambra State is set to unveil key initiatives aimed at bolstering security and governance on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The event, which will take place at the International Convention Center (ICC), Awka, will feature the official launch of Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Peace Must Reign), the signing into law of the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, and the inauguration of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council.
Operation Udo Ga-Achi is a comprehensive security strategy designed to address rising concerns over community safety, criminal activity, and the protection of lives and property in Anambra State. It aims to integrate advanced surveillance, community policing, and technology-driven solutions to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all residents.
The Anambra State Homeland Security Law will formalize measures for state-led security interventions, empower local authorities, and create frameworks for collaboration with traditional leaders, security agencies, and other stakeholders. This law reflects the administration’s dedication to maintaining law and order in alignment with global best practices.
The event will also see the inauguration of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, a body tasked with bridging governance and traditional authority. The council is expected to play a vital role in fostering cultural heritage and grassroots development across the state.
In a statement issued by Chief Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), State Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff, all guests are required to be seated before 11:30 a.m., as the Governor is scheduled to arrive at 11:55 a.m. The event will be broadcast live starting at 12:00 noon to ensure public participation.
