Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, will on Wednesday, 17th September 2025, storm Anambra West Local Government Area for the commissioning of completed projects and inspection of ongoing infrastructural works.
According to an official invitation signed by the Executive Chairman of Anambra West LGA, Hon. Fidelis Nnazor, the governor, will officially commission the newly completed Mmiata Anam–Nzam Secretariat Road, one of the strategic roads linking the local government headquarters with surrounding communities. The governor will also pay a working visit to Otupu Market in Mmiata Anam and inspect progress on the Nzam Bridge, a major project expected to boost economic and social connectivity within the riverine local government.
The event, billed to take place at the Anambra West Local Government Secretariat by 9:00 am, is being described as “a landmark occasion in the history of Anambra West,” given the significance of the road and bridge projects to local development.
Governor Soludo’s administration has prioritised rural infrastructure in hard-to-reach communities like Anambra West, which are often cut off during the rainy season due to poor road networks and flooding. The Mmiata Anam–Nzam Secretariat Road, now completed, is expected to ease movement for civil servants, traders, and farmers, while the Nzam Bridge, still under construction, is regarded as a game-changer that will open up Anambra West to increased commerce and faster access to neighbouring local government areas.
Hon. Nnazor called on the people of Anambra West to turn out en masse to receive the governor, noting that the projects are part of Soludo’s commitment to spread development to every part of the state, especially riverine areas that were long neglected in the past.
The governor’s visit comes as part of his administration’s ongoing push to commission completed projects across Anambra while keeping a close eye on those under construction to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.
