Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, officially presented certificates of recognition to three newly elected traditional rulers in a ceremony held at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.
The recipients of the certificates include His Royal Highness Igwe Timothy Okwudiri Ifurunwa, known as Igwe Odudu 1 of Ihite in Orumba South; His Royal Highness Igwe Francis Ugochukwu Chikezie, referred to as Igwe Ugodinaobi of Azia in Ihiala; and His Royal Highness Igwe (Sir) Obiora Anachuna, popularly known as Igwe Orazulunye of Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government.
The event was attended by members of the state executive council, including Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, alongside other dignitaries and community stakeholders.
During his address, Governor Soludo highlighted the critical role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity, and development within their respective communities. He urged the newly recognized rulers to uphold the principles of good governance, prioritize the welfare of their people, and work towards fostering harmony and progress.
