Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has extended warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Anambra State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid el Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Governor Soludo described the occasion as both a time of joyous celebration and an opportunity for reflection on the fundamental values of peace, love, and compassion exemplified by the Prophet.
“The Prophet Muhammad in his teachings urged unity, kindness, and respect for all, regardless of faith or background,” Governor Soludo stated. “This sacred season reminds the Muslim community to embrace the principles of tolerance, understanding, and harmony for the betterment of our society.”
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all Anambra residents can coexist peacefully, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
“In Anambra State, our government remains dedicated to promoting unity and ensuring that citizens of all faiths feel welcomed and protected,” he emphasized.
Governor Soludo concluded his message with prayers for the Muslim community, expressing hope that the Eid el Maulud celebration would bring joy, peace, and prosperity not only to Anambra State but to Nigeria as a whole.
The statement, signed by Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, reflects the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen interfaith relations and promote religious harmony across Anambra State.
Eid el Maulud, also known as Mawlid, is celebrated annually by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad and serves as an occasion for prayer, reflection, and community gathering.
