Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has extended birthday wishes to former Anambra State Governor and current Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige as he marks another year on Thursday.
In a statement released by his Press Secretary Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo praised the medical doctor-turned-politician for his distinguished service to both Anambra State and Nigeria throughout his career in public office.
“Senator Ngige is a leader who rendered good services to Anambra State and Nigeria through his various roles in public service,” Soludo said in his congratulatory remarks.
Ngige, who holds the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), served as Anambra State Governor from May 2003 to March 2006. During his tenure, he launched several development programs aimed at improving the lives of Anambra residents.
The current governor, who holds the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) honor, expressed hopes that Ngige would continue to enjoy good health and remain active in serving humanity.
Senator Ngige’s political career has spanned multiple decades, transitioning from his background in medicine to become one of Nigeria’s prominent political figures representing Anambra State at the federal level.
The birthday tribute reflects the cordial relationship between current and former leaders of Anambra State, emphasizing continuity in the state’s political leadership despite party differences.
