Governor Charles Soludo yesterday conducted a field inspection of the recently approved Ekwulobia-Nnobi Road dualization project, marking a significant milestone in the completion of Anambra State’s ambitious beltway infrastructure network.

The governor’s visit to Igbo-Ukwu represents the first official on-ground assessment of the 32.6-kilometer dual carriageway project since its approval, signaling the administration’s hands-on approach to infrastructure implementation.

Speaking after the inspection, Governor Soludo emphasized the transformative impact the project will have on connectivity within the state. The Ekwulobia-Nnobi dualization will serve as the final link in a comprehensive road network that connects Anambra’s four major cities through modern dual carriageways.

“This project completes our vision of the Anambra Beltway,” the governor stated, highlighting how the infrastructure will enable faster, safer, and more seamless movement across the state.

The field inspection comes amid growing public support for the administration’s infrastructure agenda. During his recent statewide tour, Governor Soludo noted the “unwavering warmth and spirit” of residents, which he described as driving the government’s commitment to development projects.

The completion of the Anambra Beltway through this fourth dual carriageway represents a significant achievement in regional transportation planning. The network is designed to reduce travel times between major urban centers while improving road safety standards across the state.

Governor Soludo’s administration has adopted what he terms a methodical approach to development, describing the process as building “brick by brick, kilometre by kilometre” toward achieving the state’s infrastructure goals.

The inspection visit underscores the administration’s focus on project oversight and implementation, with the governor personally monitoring progress on key infrastructure initiatives.

Details regarding the construction timeline and contractor selection for the Ekwulobia-Nnobi Road project are expected to be announced in the coming weeks as the administration moves from planning to execution phase.
