Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo recently commissioned the newly rehabilitated and upgraded Obiuno Health Centre in Igbo Ukwu, Aguata Local Government Area. Now renamed the Comprehensive Health Centre, Igboukwu, this facility stands as a heartfelt tribute and expression of love from the Nwabugwu family, who have beautifully honoured their mother through this initiative.
Flowing from this gesture of philanthropy, Governor Soludo expressed profound gratitude to the Nwabugwu family, stating that Anambra is proud of their gesture. This, he emphasized, is what true legacy looks like – investing in the health and future of the people. Transitioning from this impactful unveiling, the governor’s message encapsulated a vision of progress and community-driven development, wishing that Anambra continued to win.
Bridging into other developments in the area, the visit to Igbo Ukwu also saw Governor Soludo commission a 4.2km road, anticipated to enhance transportation and stimulate economic activities in the community. Alongside this, there were discussions about redesigning the Igbo Ukwu Museum to highlight the community’s rich cultural heritage better. In a gesture underscoring community support, the Igbo Ukwu community presented a ₦50 million cheque to Soludo as a show of backing for his administration.
Ultimately, this commissioning of the Comprehensive Health Center, Igboukwu, underscores the synergy between government, community, and private families in elevating healthcare services in Anambra State, reflecting a broader narrative of development and community engagement.
