The Labour Party candidate, Hon. Peter Aniekwe (MacPee), seeking to represent Anambra East/West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, said the death of an accident victim in his village, Oroma Etiti Anam forced him to join politics.

“As a businessman, I am doing well. I can afford to build and live in any kind of house I want, drive the kind of car I want, send my children to any school I want, enjoy the kind of life I want” MacPee told Multichannels247, an online newspaper.
Continuing he said, “But when a child was knocked down in my village by a vehicle and the child died because there were no hospitals to treat him or motorable roads to take him to where he could be treated, I said no. I could no longer stay and watch my people suffer endlessly. There is a limit to roles individuals could play because there are roles the government and those in government must play.
“This is what triggered my interest in politics. I started consulting and asking questions on how our numerous challenges could be solved. I sponsored and supported candidates with my resources. But uptil this moment, I have not gotten the kind of result I desired. So I want to go to the House of Representatives and show that the job could be done and show how to do it,” he said.
For many years, Anambra East/West Federal Constituency was run like a personal private business. No one dared to ask questions about their decisions and acts. They choose who will occupy what position and for how long.

That was before. Now, the Labour Party candidate, MacPee has dared to do what many were reluctant to do. Macpee, popularly known as Mmili n’ali Ugwu since he joined politics, has become a moving train. At the moment, he is replicating in Anambra East/West the same revolution being engineered at the national level by Mr. Peter Obi.
In Anambra East/West, credible individuals and groups are identifying with him and will make their identities public, immediately campaign officially kicks-off. However, because there are four candidates seeking to represent Anambra East/West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, deciding which candidate to vote for may be a daunting task to some people.
To many, the choice is already very clear without any iota of doubt. To a few, who may still be undecided, here are just five simple basis of measurement that will help you understand why you must vote for Hon. Peter Aniekwe (MacPee), the Labour Party candidate to represent Anambra East/West Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers.
The number one reason is that Macpee is extremely honest. Being honest can sometimes be difficult because it makes individuals vulnerable. It reveals who we really are and discloses our mistakes, which gives others the opportunity to criticize or reject openly. Honesty develops character and builds credibility and trust, which are the foundation to evoke confidence and respect from those around you, and in the case of political leaders, teammates and constituents.
Two, Macpee is highly compassionate. Testimonies abound on how on several occasions extended compassionate hearts to people who are not even known to him. Compassion is the humane quality of understanding the suffering of others and wanting to do something to alleviate that suffering. While many see compassion as a weakness, true compassion is a characteristic that converts knowledge to wisdom. Good political leaders use compassion to see the needs of those he or she leads and to determine the course of action that would be of greatest benefit to all those involved.
Three, he has Integrity. You cannot succeed in many life endeavours without integrity. There lies the secret of Macpee’s success in business. He started small. But because he has integrity, bigger projects and assignments were entrusted to him. Integrity is defined as ‘the adherence to moral and ethical principles; the soundness of moral character.’ It is a synonym for honesty and uprightness, and is a vital characteristic for those in political leadership. Political leaders who possess integrity can be trusted because he or she never veers from inner values, even when it might benefit them to do so. A leader must have the trust of followers. This requires the highest standard of integrity.
Four, Macpee is overly confident. This is why he has been able to wine and dine with the low and mighty without any form of timidity. Having confidence in a political leader is about having faith or belief that he or she will act in a right, proper, or effective way. A good political leader needs to be both confident in himself or herself as well in their ability to lead. Leaders who possess this quality inspire others, drawing on a level of trust which sparks the motivation to get others on board and get the job done.
Five, is that Macpee is flexible and may sometimes bend backwards to accommodate those who do not possess his level of knowledge and wisdom. Some misinterpret this as weakness, but it is not. Flexibility is about understanding the give-and-take aspects of life, especially politics, and the ability to find the common ground. Good politicians listen carefully to all sides, to not only hear their arguments but to especially learn what it will take on behalf of all parties involved to reach a consensus. This characteristic allows political leaders to recognize setbacks and criticism, to learn from them and move forward.
