The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, has continued to demonstrate visionary leadership by attracting significant development projects to Anambra West Local Government Area together with the local government chairman, Hon. Fidelis Nnazor and the state government led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Hon. Nwabunwanne’s commitment to infrastructural growth has been instrumental in bridging the gap between rural communities and urban opportunities, ensuring that even the most remote areas benefit from government interventions.
One of the most notable achievements under his watch is the ongoing road construction from Aligom, through Utolo, to the tripartite junction that connects Oroma-Etiti with Umudora and Umuikwu. For decades, this road remained in a terrible state, making movement difficult for residents, farmers, and traders. However, thanks to Chief Nwabunwanne’s strategic engagements with both federal and state governments, this long-neglected route is now being transformed into a passable and reliable road, significantly boosting economic and social activities. Farmers can now transport their produce with ease, traders can access markets without excessive delays and overall connectivity within Ezi Anam communities.
Beyond this road project, Chief Nwabunwanne has championed various other developmental initiatives across Anambra West LGA. His advocacy has led to the extension of various developments to hitherto underserved areas, improvements in water supply, and better support for community-based economic programs. Communities such as Mmiata Anam, Umueze Anam, Nzam, Inoma, Owelle, and beyond have all felt the positive impact of his leadership. His ability to navigate government policies, secure projects, and balance political positions for the people underscores his deep commitment to rural development.
While the people of Umudora and Umuikwu deeply appreciate the ongoing road construction, they are also urging Chief Nwabunwanne to push for an extension of the project beyond the tripartite junction. Extending the road further would provide greater accessibility to other parts of Anambra West, fostering economic expansion, improving security, and ensuring that more residents benefit from a reliable transportation network. Good roads are the foundation of development, enabling easier access to healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and commercial hubs.
Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne has undoubtedly proven himself as a leader with a deep passion for grassroots development. His efforts in attracting government-backed projects have transformed rural communities, making them more accessible and economically viable. The people of Umudora and Umuikwu remain hopeful that his influence will continue to bring further infrastructural advancements, particularly the much-needed extension of the Aligom-Utolo road beyond the tripartite junction of Oroma-Ititi and Umudora Anam.
With the continued dedication of Hon. Nwabunwanne, Anambra West is set to witness even greater progress, cementing Chief Nwabunwanne’s legacy as a leader who truly prioritizes the needs of the people.
