The Chief Executive Officer, Unoma-Shoemaker, Mrs Unoma Okoye, has commended the Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo over the “1youth, 2skills” initiative of his administration.
Mrs Okoye who is an experienced producer of footwear, bags, belts and other leather accessories gave the commendation at the completion of master trainers programme in the second batch of the initiative.
She said, “Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership and commitment to empowering the youth of Anambra State are truly commendable. The ‘One Youth, Two Skills’ initiative is a testament to the Prof. Soludo’s dedication to equipping the next generation with the tools they need to succeed.
“This innovative program will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the lives of countless young people, enabling them to become active contributors to the state’s economic growth and development.”
Mrs Okoye while noting that the governor and his Commissioner for Youth Development’s efforts in addressing youth unemployment through skills development were laudable, applauded his tireless efforts at building a brighter future for all and urged him to keep up the excellent works.
Meanwhile, the four-day training which was scheduled in two batches according to different vocations is facilitated by the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, NASME, Anambra State Chapter.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba while declaring the programme open, said the initiative was an innovative solution to youth restiveness and provision of quality jobs, with the vision of raising 1000 youth millionaires, annually.
Agha Mba who pointed out that the governor had given approvals for the training, said that the training would ensure quality assurance in line with the manifesto of Governor Soludo’s administration.
The Commissioner commended the master trainers for passing through the rigorous selection process by merit and stressed that the next phase of the programme would be value re-orientation.
