The Mayor, Awka North Local Government Area, Hon. ThankGod Anago, today hosted the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, and his team. The CP’s visit, which took place at the council secretariat, was aimed at fostering a working partnership between the police command and the people of Awka North.
In attendance were traditional rulers, Presidents-General of communities, Women PGs, Councilors, and other critical stakeholders. The meeting provided a rare opportunity for comprehensive discussions on tackling and managing security challenges affecting the council area.
Hon. Anago, Mayor of Awka North LGA, emphasized the importance of seeing security as everyone’s business, not just the affairs of the police and other sister security agencies. He reassured the people of Awka North that the local government area will continue to prioritize the security of lives and properties, in line with the state government’s mandate for a water-tight security architecture.
This development is a significant step towards enhancing security in Awka North and promoting community policing. By working together, the police and the community can develop effective strategies to address security challenges and ensure a safer environment for all.
