The authentic national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mr. Sly Ezeokenwa has congratulated the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, CFR, on her swearing-in as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Ezeokenwa, a lawyer congratulated Justice Kekere-Ekun, on her swearing-in as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria because it marks a significant milestone for the Nigerian judiciary being the second woman to hold this esteemed position.

According to Ezeokenwa, her ascension to the position follows in the footsteps of Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar.

Meanwhile, her appointment is currently in an acting capacity, pending Senate confirmation.

In his congratulatory message signed by Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki Ogbonna, the
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the national chairman, Ezeokenwa described Justice Kekere-Ekun as an incorruptible and upright jurist, whose career had been marked by a deep commitment to justice and fairness. He expressed confidence that her leadership would bring renewed vigor and integrity to Nigeria’s judiciary.

The APGA National Chairman urged Justice Kekere-Ekun to leverage her exalted position, not only as the Chief Justice of Nigeria but also as the Chairman of the National Judicial Council (NJC), to further strengthen the judiciary. He emphasized the importance of restoring public confidence in the justice system. He noted that a fair and impartial judiciary is essential for the advancement of democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria.

Ezeokenwa reaffirmed APGA’s support for an independent judiciary, which remains a cornerstone of a just and equitable society. He expressed hope that under Justice Kekere-Ekun’s leadership, the Nigerian judiciary would continue to uphold the principles of justice, equity, and fairness.
