Apprehension as Anambra Assembly suspends conversion of PTA teachers, alleges compromise…summons Education commissioner

The Anambra State Legislature has suspended the ongoing conversion of PTA Teachers into mainstream of the State’s Ministry of Education, alleging compromise in the process of recruitment.
The House however summoned the Commissioner for Education, Anambra State to appear before it on Thursday, February 3, 2022 for further investigation. 
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman ASUBEB, Obi, Franca Ego in a statement informed all the 21 Education  Secretaries in the  Local Government Areas to collect the newly recruited teachers’ list from  ASUBEB, Awka on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 and advised the successful candidates to come for accreditation and documentation on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, by 10am prompt.
They are to come with two file jackets; Education Qualifications ( Certificates); Birth Certificate and two passport photographs.
Earlier at the official commencement of the 2022 Recruitment Exercise, the Anambra State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) called on suitably qualified candidates to apply for recruitment for the government secondary and primary schools in the state.
TESCOM in a statement however noted, “We understand that a lot of people have difficulties in applying for the Anambra State teachers job. If you wish to apply for the recruitment, kindly follow the guide on this page to learn how to submit your application online.
“You must ensure you have the requirements and qualification for this job. Candidates who are not qualified are advised not to apply.”
According to TESCOM, the following requirements and qualifications are needed  for any of the vacant positions. Also, the applicant will need to upload some documents on the application portal. The person must be 18 years and above. Have WASSCE or NECO/NABTEB Result; National Certificate of Education (NCE); B.SC, HND or OND qualifications and NYSC Certificate; Must be Fluent in English Language; Good Teaching Skills.
“A B.Sc or Master’s Degree from an accredited Tertiary Institution in any related discipline or an HND Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology, Home Economics and other relevant courses will also be an additional advantage. Technical Teachers Certificate (TTC) or Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) can also used.”
TESCOM warned applicants,” Do not pay money to anyone in exchange for the application form. The form is available on the portal free of charge. The application process is easy. If you have met the requirements then you should have nothing to worry about.”
