The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mazi Ejimofor Opara, has passionately called on Nigerians, and Anambra people in particular, to trust in Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s transformative vision, following his impactful presence and speech during yesterday’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Awka.
In a statement titled “Don’t Doubt Soludo,” Opara described the governor’s leadership as a fusion of cultural pride and visionary governance. He highlighted Soludo’s symbolic appearance in a green Akwete top, white trousers, traditional red cap adorned with coral beads, and locally made Ogbunike footwear as a testament to his commitment to indigenous values and the promotion of local industries. This, Opara noted, reflects a deeper philosophy that societies thrive when they remain rooted in their cultural foundations.
Opara emphasized that Governor Soludo’s actions demonstrate a leader who is not just paying lip service to patriotism but is actively mainstreaming Nigerian ideals in his policies, beliefs, and personal conduct. He lauded the governor as a “man in the arena,” focused on delivering results and leaving history to judge his legacy.
Reflecting on Soludo’s past achievements, Opara recalled how skeptics once doubted his bold initiatives, such as the consolidation and recapitalization of Nigeria’s banking system, which has since become a cornerstone of the economy. He also highlighted the establishment of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), an African-led financial powerhouse, which is now celebrated as a success across the continent.
Opara pointed to Soludo’s ongoing efforts to transform Anambra State. He noted the governor’s declaration of a state of emergency on roads, which has led to unprecedented progress, and the redevelopment of Okpoko, once neglected, now known as “New Haven.” He praised Soludo’s ability to shift the focus of politics in Anambra from the distribution of short-term gains, often termed “stomach infrastructure,” to the pursuit of intense development, fiscal responsibility, and financial prudence.
Further, Opara highlighted the construction of a new Governor’s Lodge and Government House in Anambra State, breaking a 33-year jinx, as evidence of Soludo’s commitment to long-term planning and excellence. These achievements, he argued, prove that Soludo is a leader who finishes what he starts with precision and vision.
In his concluding remarks, Opara reaffirmed Soludo’s ambitious vision of making Anambra a “liveable and prosperous smart mega city.” He urged the people of Anambra and Nigerians at large to set aside doubts and rally behind the governor’s leadership, emphasizing that his track record is one of consistent delivery and unwavering commitment to progress.
“Soludo is a doer,” Opara declared. “He is a leader who focuses on results, and his record of execution speaks for itself. Don’t doubt him!”
