
Transition Committee chairman, Anambra West LGA, Hon. Felix Ikechi has briefed Anambra State House of Assembly (ASHA) members about completed and ongoing projects in the LGA.
Hon. Ikechi did the briefing when the Deputy Speaker of the ASHA, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, the member representing Anambra West Constituency, Hon. Patrick Udoba and the House Committee chairman on Works, Hon. Emma Nwafor came for inspection of the Mmiata Anam – Nzam road project and performance of other legislature’s oversight functions.
Ikechi who applauded the lawmakers for the timely visit, enumerated projects done under his watch. The projects according to him, include building of solar powered boreholes in various communities, construction of primary healthcare center in Odekpe and elevation of Oroma Etiti Anam health center building from bungalow to a story building.
Others are the reconstruction of Anambra West LGA secretariat complex at Nzam, ongoing construction of a General Hospital in Oroma Etiti, ongoing construction of a jetty in Umueze Anam amongst several other projects.
Meanwhile, Hon. Udoba, who is the chairman, House committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs and his colleagues who arrived Nzam to monitor the level of work done in the council area expressed satisfaction with what they saw. Hon. Okoye in his speech pleaded with the staff of the LGA to always support the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration so he could continue delivering the Solution Agenda.
In his speech, Hon. Udoba acknowledged the good works of Governor Soludo in the area and asked the people to give him more support for continuity; adding that the Mmiata Anam -Nzam road would still get to the secretariat as promised by Governor Soludo.
On his part, Hon. Nwafor said he was impressed with the level of work done in the 11.5km road, as the contractor is doing the finishing touches. He reminded them to include the shoulder and stone pitch as it is in the design of the road.
Other dignitaries at the event are the traditional ruler of Nzam community, Igwe Joseph Alokwu; the President General of Nzam, Hon. Fidelis Nnazor; former TC of Anambra West, Hon. Augustine Chukwurah, among others.
