Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has directed the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, to move in and repair damaged roads in Anambra West Local Government Area. This directive is aimed at ensuring ease of movement and boosting of economic growth in the area.
Chief Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Matters, who announced this development few days ago, expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for his concern about the area’s infrastructure.
“I have just made a case at our exco meeting about the state of our roads after the flooding and Mr. Governor has graciously directed the Commissioner for works and infrastructure to move in and ensure soonest that the roads are fixed” he stated.
Nwabunwanne, however, urged Anambra West residents to support Governor Soludo’s administration, particularly in the 2025 elections, to complete planned development projects.
Key focus areas include road rehabilitation, economic empowerment, and community development projects.
On road infrastructure, the state government had completed kilometres of roads in the area and will soon commence palliative works on critical roads within Anambra West. This is to ensure improved accessibility and connectivity for residents and businesses.
To stimulate economic growth, Governor Soludo initiated various empowerment programs, including “1youth2skills” initiative. It is a training program for local entrepreneurs and artisans geared towards empowering about 10,000 youths. In the area of health, the government embarked on building ultramodern health facility as well as upgrading existing health centers.
These efforts align with Governor Soludo’s administration’s commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure and promoting economic growth in every part of the state.
Clearly, the collaborative efforts of the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and community matters, Chief Nwabunwanne and his boss, Governor Soludo demonstrate a commitment to transforming Anambra West into a thriving hub of economic activity and improved quality of life for its residents.
Indeed, “Solution is here.”
