Awka, June 4, 2025 — The Anambra State Government has categorically denied and condemned as false and malicious the viral social media claims alleging that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, consulted a native doctor regarding his reelection bid.
In an official statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, the government dismissed the narrative as a deliberate distortion of facts, aimed at misleading the public and scoring cheap political points.
According to the statement, the video clip being circulated was not a spiritual consultation, but rather a recorded moment from a recent official engagement between the state government and Anambra-based content creators. The session, facilitated by the Governor’s Special Senior Assistant on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, was designed to promote synergy between the state and the creative industry — a key component of Governor Soludo’s broader economic diversification strategy.
As part of the session’s creative showcase, one of the participants performed a comic skit portraying a native doctor — a genre popular in Nigerian online entertainment. The government clarified that this was purely a dramatic performance, not a traditional or spiritual consultation, and it was presented in good faith during the interactive program.
“It is disheartening that political opponents would stoop so low as to manipulate a harmless entertainment piece and spin it into a false narrative,” the statement read. “Such misinformation is not only misleading but a smear attempt against a government focused on development.”
Governor Soludo, the statement noted, remains steadfast in his dedication to building a livable and prosperous Anambra, and does not require any supernatural endorsement to secure reelection. His confidence lies in the overwhelming support of Ndi Anambra, which he has earned through visible performance and the implementation of his Solution Agenda.
The state also referenced recent investments such as the Solution Fun City project as proof of Governor Soludo’s commitment to the creative and entertainment sectors.
The government urged citizens and the media to ignore the misleading video and remain vigilant against orchestrated misinformation. It called for responsible social media use and advised the public to always verify information before sharing.
“As always, Governor Soludo remains undeterred in his mission to transform Anambra State and will not be distracted by the antics of desperate politicians,” the statement concluded.
