The organisers of the first beach party in Anam have disclosed plans to make the event, holding on December Day, a lifetime experience to the attendees. According to the group, the event would compete fairly with what is seen at Eleko and Badagry beaches in Lagos State.
The chairman, organising committee, Chief Simeon Nnakwe told multichannels247, an online newspaper that musicians and comedians of Anam origin would perform, live, at the event.
Chief Nnakwe said that a Classical Disc Jockey (DJ) with powerful instruments would also be on stage. “There will be dancing groups, father Christmas, boat cruise, flying boat ride, horse ride, swimming, etc” he added.
Nnakwe popularly known as Democracy, said that while the organisers plan to cook food, provide drinks, small shops, pepper soup etc, it will definitely not be enough and people are encouraged in the spirit of the season to also make provisions for themselves, friends and others.
He said, “Provision is made for food and drinks as well as other wares to be sold at subsidized prices by vendors. Also, families are encouraged and allowed to carry their home-made foods and drinks to the beach.”
To ensure safety of the attendees and maximum enjoyment, the organisers had written officially to all the security agencies including the Navy, to man the water ways, the Army and the Police.
The event said to be an initiative of the honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters, Chief TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, has two parts. The daytime part is for everybody while the night part that will start from 7pm till dawn, is exclusively for adults.
