This winning solidifies, the sixth-year medical student of Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), as one of the two standout winners selected from over 300 entries submitted by medical students worldwide.

His essay not only demonstrated academic prowess but also underscored a commitment to promoting awareness and understanding of Neurosurgery as a specialized discipline.

The success of Odyras who is the son of Dr. Paul Okoye from Oroma Etiti Anam, Anambra West is particularly noteworthy as he shares the winner’s podium with another exceptional student from Kenya, emphasizing the global reach and impact of this accolade.
As part of his well-deserved prize, Okoye has been granted a full scholarship to attend the esteemed 2023 Neurosurgical World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa.
