The Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Christian Aburime has urged Nigerians to value strategic thinking over quick fixes. He made the plea while commending Governor Soludo for his strategic approach to combating insecurity in Anambra State. He described Soludo’s leadership as a departure from Nigeria’s common “fire brigade” reactions to crises.
According to Aburime, Governor Soludo faced intense criticism from opposition politicians and religious figures amidst the state’s security challenges. Despite mounting pressure for immediate action, Soludo refused to be stampeded into hasty decisions. Instead, he focused on building long-term solutions designed to address the root causes of criminal activities.
Aburime highlighted the launch of Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Peace Must Reign) and the strengthening of the Agunechemba vigilante group as pivotal moves in the administration’s security strategy. He described these initiatives as carefully planned measures aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring peace.
One of the governor’s boldest actions, according to Aburime, was the demolition of Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as La Cruise Hotel, in Oba. The facility, which posed as a legitimate business, was discovered to house over 30 partitioned graves and a shrine linked to ritualistic and criminal activities. This grim revelation, Aburime said, underscored the sophisticated and insidious nature of the security threats in the state.
Aburime praised Soludo’s decision to modernize law enforcement by equipping security operatives with AI-aided surveillance gadgets and a fleet of vehicles. These tools, he noted, have already proven effective in tracking and apprehending criminals, signalling a new era for security operations in the state.
He emphasized that Soludo’s refusal to be swayed by short-term criticisms is now bearing fruit. “Governor Soludo’s focus on strategic, sustainable solutions rather than reactive fixes is restoring confidence and hope to Anambra State,” Aburime remarked.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to recognize the value of strategic thinking over quick fixes. “The success of Operation Udo Ga-Achi and the Agunechemba initiative is proof that long-term planning, when executed with determination, can disrupt criminal operations and restore peace. Soludo’s approach offers a blueprint for security governance across Nigeria,” Aburime asserted.
