The Labour Party candidate, Chief Peter Aniekwe seeking to represent Anambra East/West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives has said he would hold town hall meetings regularly to ensure that stakeholders make inputs in the affairs of the area, especially in monitoring Constituency projects.
Aniekwe said it is extremely necessary to always consult the people to know what they need rather than thinking that because you are a representative, you know more than everyone else. He said it is the highest height of absurdity to make promises during a campaign, without fulfilling them after winning.
He said, “No one knows what happens to constituency allocations because those representing us think it is their personal entitlement. So they think they could do whatever they wish with it. No, it is unacceptable. If I am elected, I will account for every kobo that comes to the constituency; make it very transparent such that everyone will know what is happening. That is why I said that what I am doing is to let our people take back our constituency.”

Meanwhile, eight candidates were listed as those contesting the House of Representatives seat of Anambra East and West Federal Constituency.
The candidates are Chief Peter Aniekwe, for the Labour Party; Hon. Victor Okoye for APC; Hon. Obinna Emeneke for PDP; Hon. Igbanugo Sunday Okonkwo for ADC; Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe for APGA; Mr. Chinwuba Ikechu Cyril for SDP; Mr. Ekwealor Victor for ZLP and Mr. Mmadubueze Anthony Bomboy for NNPP.
By September 28, campaigns will officially begin and Anambra East/West voters will meet the candidates on the field.
So far, the Labour Party candidate, Hon. Peter Aniekwe has made serious inroads, receiving huge endorsements across the length and width of the Constituency. Several communities have declared their support for him addressing him as the next House of Representatives member.
