One Ibrahim of Rafin Zurfi has allegedly lured his 16-year-old friend, Uzairu Salisu of Kwanan Gulmanmu, Jahun quarters in Bauchi metropolis to bush, tied him up and plucked his two eyes.
Bauchi Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday. Its spokesman SP Ahmed Wakili said it received a distress call from the Ward Head of Birshi, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis, Mohammed Lawa, that Salisu was found in a pool of blood and struggling to stay alive.
Wakili stated that a team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer of Yelwa moved to the scene of the crime and evacuated the victim to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi (ATBUTH) where he is receiving treatment.
According to the victim, preliminary investigation revealed that Ibrahim, whom he knew for some time, lured him to the bush for a menial job on his farm where he also used a cable to strangle him.
Commissioner of Police, Umar Mamman Sanda in a statement vowed to get to the root of the matter while ensuring that the culprit is brought to book to ensure as deterrent to others.
