The Anambra North Senatorial Zone is set to witness a significant political gathering as stakeholders from across the region prepare to demonstrate their unwavering support for Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR at a major solidarity rally scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025.

The highly anticipated rally, organized by the Anambra North Stakeholders Forum – a coalition comprising current and former elected officials, appointees, and key stakeholders from the senatorial zone – will take place at the Otu Ocha Township Stadium in Anambra East Local Government Area, commencing at 10:00 AM.

Operating under the compelling theme “SUSTAINING THE SOLUTION LEGACY: A PATH TO DISRUPTIVE DEVELOPMENT IN ANAMBRA STATE,” the rally aims to showcase the collective endorsement of Governor Soludo’s developmental agenda and his administration’s achievements across the state. This theme reflects the stakeholders’ commitment to ensuring continuity in the governor’s transformative policies that have begun reshaping the state’s development trajectory.

The event promises several significant moments that underscore the depth of support for the governor. Stakeholders will formally present a comprehensive communique outlining their position and continued support for the governor’s policies and programs. This document is expected to detail specific areas where the governor’s administration has made notable impact in the Anambra North zone.

In what represents perhaps the most culturally significant aspect of the rally, traditional rulers (Ndi Igwe) from Anambra North will confer a chieftaincy title upon Governor Soludo. This gesture of profound respect and appreciation recognizes his contributions to the development of the region and the state at large, bridging the gap between modern governance and traditional authority structures that remain influential in Igbo society.

Furthermore, the forum will officially declare its support for Governor Soludo’s re-election bid, positioning the Anambra North zone as a strong political base for the incumbent governor. This endorsement carries particular weight given the diverse composition of the stakeholders forum, which includes voices from across the political spectrum within the zone.

This rally represents a strategic political mobilization effort, demonstrating the governor’s grassroots support within one of Anambra State’s three senatorial zones. The participation of both current and former officials suggests a broad-based coalition that transcends individual political ambitions in favor of continuity in governance. Such unity among political stakeholders is often seen as a crucial indicator of electoral viability in Nigerian politics.

The event also underscores the importance of regional political dynamics in Anambra State politics and highlights Governor Soludo’s efforts to maintain strong relationships with traditional institutions and political stakeholders across all zones of the state. By securing such organized support from Anambra North, the governor demonstrates his ability to build consensus beyond his immediate political base.

Political analysts view this solidarity rally as a significant boost to Governor Soludo’s political capital, particularly as it demonstrates organized support from a key senatorial zone. The involvement of traditional rulers in conferring a chieftaincy title adds cultural legitimacy to the political endorsement, creating a powerful combination of traditional and modern authority backing.

The rally is expected to attract thousands of participants from across Anambra North, including Anambra East, Anambra West, and Oyi Local Government Areas, as stakeholders seek to demonstrate their unified support for the governor’s continued leadership. This massive turnout, if achieved, would serve as a clear message to both supporters and opposition about the governor’s standing in this crucial region of the state.

As the political landscape continues to evolve ahead of future elections, the Anambra North Stakeholders Forum continues to position itself as a key political voice in the state’s democratic process, emphasizing development-focused governance and continuity in leadership that promises to sustain the momentum of positive change across Anambra State.
